Win Tickets to Decor + Design Melbourne's International Seminar Series

Melbourne, here I come!

Aside from catching up with all my wonderful Melburnians, I'm itching to get back to Melbourne for the
Decor + Design and Furnitex conferences this July. Although rebranded from the previously called Decoration + Design, if past events are anything to go by, attendance is a must - so much designer eye candy! (I've posted about past events here). Furnitex and Vivid are always a highlight, and the international and local speakers they organise are truly inspiring. We are super lucky enough to have double passes to each D+D International Seminar Series speaker to give away - more information on the giveaway at the end of the post!

This year there is a great lineup of local and international speakers, springing from all fields of interior design and architecture, from trend-forecasters to designers.

I'm particularly looking forward to hearing
Kari Whitman, celebrity interior designer to the stars, including Kristen Bell, Antonio Banderas, Emilio Esteves, Don Johnson, and of course Jessica Alba's gorgeous eco-home seen in InStyle (US) and other publications. Her trademark style is one of ‘eclectic self-expressionism’, incorporating the latest interior styles, salvaged artefacts and reuse of the owners existing furniture, whilst integrating sustainable and pet-friendly design. She proves that eco-friendly design can work for any style.

US Interior Designer Kishani Perera is known for her ability to blend the reclaimed with the refined to create beautiful spaces that are both luxurious and liveable. Kishani sources products from an eclectic array of sources – mixing contemporary with vintage – and incorporating pieces from the finest showrooms in Paris to the hidden gems of eBay and Craig's List. She'll be discussing the fine art of mixing high and low, old and new, and bringing new life to old pieces.

Aussie Shareen Joel, Founder and Creative Director of Shareen Joel Design (SJD) and Share Design is pretty friggin' awesome!. She has been described by Belle Magazine as a ‘Creative Powerhouse’ - a designer with more than 20 years of experience across industrial design, interior architecture and product design. In 2011, Joel co-founded Share Design – the ultimate resource for home, interior and design inspiration - and definitely something worth checking out. In fact, while writing this, I got distracted for about an hour on Share Design and adding things to my design file (you'll see!). Shareen teams up with Australian House & Garden to share insights on how she has built and developed her successful business.
